In English we are learning how to write a recount. As you can see, everyone is trying really hard to do their best work.
Next week is our final week of year 4 and will begin on Monday and Tuesday with two transition days in year 5.
The rest of the week will be spent completing our Angry Earth booklets, answering maths problems (hopefully outside) and on our STEM project.
As we will be completing out STEM projects on Friday, there will not be the opportunity this year to bring in anything from home on the last day of term.
Thank you to everyone who has filled in the reply slips from their child’s school report. The comments so far have been very positive.
Wishing you all an enjoyable summer holiday and we will see you all again around school when you begin once more in year 5.
Next week is Assessment Week.
In English and Maths, we will be finding out how far the pupils have progressed during this year.
We will be beginning a new topic, What Makes The World So Angry? We will be discovering all about volcanoes and earthquakes and the rocks that they produce.
With the weather being as good as it is, please make sure your child has their PE kit every day. If we get an opportunity to go outside more than once in the week we will take it to get out of our hot classroom.
There are only a few weeks left for you children to get their reading badges. Please listen to your child every night, sign their diary and hopefully they will get the next reading badge before the end of the year.
Next week is Armed Forces week in school as well as Sports Day.
In English we will be looking at and writing our own examples of war poetry.
In maths we will be revising our mathematical operation skills and knowledge in preparation for the up coming assessment week.
During Armed forces week we will be comparing and contrasting soldiers from WW1, WW2 and modern day as well as looking at key events from WW1 and WW2. In addition we will be learning two songs to sing in an assembly on Thursday.
As part of Armed forces week each class will get a session with the School of Military on Wednesday, all children need their FULL PE kit in for the session.
Friday afternoon is whole school sports day, once again all children need to have their FULL school PE kit in school. They may bring outdoor trainers in and they will also may need to bring a bottle of water to drink during the afternoon. The summer fair will follow sports day at the end of the school day.
