After our research, that we did for homework and yesterday, we got to make our volcanoes today. Everyone got very sticky but we all enjoyed making them. Indonesian week has been a great week .
We have been learning about Sikhism and making booklets describing what is Sikhism, the five Ks and why Sikhs celebrate Dawali. We have produced our own symbols for One God. We all enjoyed this.
Year 4 used the 2DIY app on the iPads to create a game, based on the Indonesian story of Garuda. They quickly understood how to create a stage, alter the characters and add features such as movement, sound and scoring points. After playing each other’s games, some children also improved their own. A superb lesson – we’ll done Year 4.
Vine dance was great fun. Year 4 used lots of energy and were flexible when they created their own movements to act like a vine. They used a combination of moving by themselves, in small groups and eventually James led the whole class to weave like a strong vine. They believe after all their hard work they are tired!
Year 4 enjoyed creating a drama about an Indonesian tale. They acted out the story and chased the tiger as a swarm of bees. They also created their own ending to the story and performed as a freeze frame. It was really good fun and we had a great time.
